Duncan, a white male in his early 50s, completed a seven-day journal (see below) of his walk routes, photos and commentary about how he came to live in SE18 in 2019, via West Yorkshire and Wilmington (near Dartford). He highlights some spectacular views, green spaces, interesting architecture and favourite pubs and expresses frustration about blocked access to public spaces, lack of good road crossings, litter and the ‘no dogs in cemeteries’ rule in this borough.
Duncan says “Hopefully whoever reads this will find fascination in some of the things that amaze me each day. And maybe some will share my grumpiness around the issues we have to face each day around access to the countryside and strange rules.”
Duncan’s walks stretch between Plumstead, Woolwich, Welling, Abbey Wood, taking in many sections of the Greenchain Walk route.
